This July 1st my class and I turned into “big” senior residents.  Besides not being at the bottom of the food chain, so-to-speak, we picked up a bunch of new responsibilities such as training the new first years in the way of the OR.  It’s actually quite stressful.  I’m torn between knowing that I’m a year away from freedom/home and the stress of actually having to be on my own and start a ‘life’.  I’ve already started browsing job opportunities in California.  My goal is to have my CV and letters of recommendation done by the end of July.  Then the application for California medical license take 6-9 months and then passing the written boards.  Yikes!  There’s so much to do.  As you can imagine I haven’t had much time to blog much but I really should make it my own personal routine to do so.
