It’s sad but true, people like me better when I’m under the influence of intoxicating beverages. It’s not just my own imagination either, my closest friends tend to agree. People in general get more dis-inhibited when they are drinking and I think that is the big draw to alcohol. There are plenty of tasty alcoholic drinks out there but I can think of a lot better tasting things to drink. Heck if you had a drink minus the alcohol it would probably taste a lot better. I can’t say I ‘like’ the taste of alcohol. If you think about it, it’s just a hydroxyl group attached to a carbon or substituted alkyl group. Not very appetizing at all.
Most of the crazy fun nights I’ve had involved alcohol and I think that the dis-inhibition is the primary reason. One of my favorite holidays is Halloween for the same reason. On that night you can dress up however you like or even be anonymous and explore the world unrestrained by your normal social cautions. I guess alcohol in moderation when used responsibly (I know this contradicts everything I’ve written so far) is not so bad.
I hate to admit it but there are occasions when I prefer my boyfriend to be drinking. He’s sweeter and more agreeable. Less sarcastic lol. My ego needs it every now and then
lol, thats cool. I think ‘happy’ drunks tend to be nice people overall. It’s the violent/irresponsible ones that I’m weary of.
